Let's face facts, horror movies since, ehh...1989? Blow. They're terrible, god awful, and they only get worse(i'm looking at you, Hostel II). That being said, every once in a great while one will come, seemingly out of nowhere, and transcend the horror genre to being that of just a good, solid film. I.e.
Jacob's Ladder(1991),
Eyes Wide Shut(1999), and
28 Days Later(2002) are the big three that jump out at me. By the look of
this trailer, this may not only expand my list; but open up an entire new genre that so many before it had tried and failed. Cough, the Blair Witch Project, cough.
